Stage 4: Paracatu – Sao Francisco
Road connection: 135.24 km – Selective Section: 363.85 km – Road connection: 86.21 km – Total:585.30 km

This fourth stage did not happened without reminding competitors about the sand of the desert of Jalapao in the state of Tocantin. It was a long special stage, hard and very demanding for the machines, which took men to their limits and caused numerous withdrawals by the end of the day. The selective section was varied, with sand, stones, rivers and it finished crossing a river on a ship that was trapped in the sand because of the delay.

Many competitors did not make it in the given time (6h30’) and it is Ze Helio, the old bike rider who has won the Dos Sertoes Rally, that takes the lead in the SSV (UTV) ranking.

The stage was very rough, Celio Oliveira N°216 and Carlos Ambrosio N°204 took the forfeit for time, while Leandro Torres and Idali Bosse saved the day and climbed up to the 6th place overall.

Leandro Torres / Idali Bosse N°208 – 16th in 3h04’50 – 6th overall, 55’20: “What a day! It was very difficult and so long that it felt like it was never going to end! When I saw the other crew next to the road, I went slower and went prudently. It was the right attitude because 8 UTV did not make it to the bivouac and tomorrow is the marathon stage.”

Celio Vinicius Oliveira and Pipo Mirone N°216 – 19th in 11h10’ – 16th overall 6h25´58: “I broke the rear suspension after landing from a bump… so I took the forfeit time to keep going tomorrow.”

Carlos Ambrosio / Carlos Eduardo Piacenti Sachs (Cadu) N°204: 20th in 11h10 – 15th overall, 6h16’02: “I had a mechanical issue at km 40 of the road connection and I couldn’t take the start of the selective section. I made it to the bivouac carried by a team that had room in their truck. We arrived to the bivouac in Sao Francisco and I took the maximum time, but I can start tomorrow, for the marathon stage.”
