Stage 2: Resistencia – San Miguel de Tucuman
Liaison: 528 km – Special stage: 275 km – Total: 803 km
Maybe it was a little less humid than yesterday, but once again, the heat takes over in the description of the day… It was a difficult racing day for vehicles and competitors that had to cross mud and fesh fesh with holes, and all of it in fast tracks.
The most important issue of the day was “how to manage the high temperatures” but it seems a simple thing to keep in mind then it is more than 45 degrees Celsius. Almost all Xtremeplus Polaris Factory Team had temperature related issues, and it is Mao Rujin who is doing better and arrives first to the Tucuman’s bivouac. “We managed and did what it takes!” Explains Sebastien Delaunay as he arrives to the bivouac. “The especial stage was not so difficult but the temperatures made it everything much more difficult. We saw all team members just stopped: Leandro Torres went too fast through a mud pool and was cleaning his radiator because the fesh fesh and the water makes like cement! Ravil Magarov’s gear box was hot, while Wan and Li waited for Marco.”
In spite of these misadventures, the five crews completed the stage and made it to the bivouac, and the team changed Maganov´s gear box during the night. This morning, in the stage San Miguel de Tucumán – San Salvador de Jujuy, the five Polaris RZR 1000TX+30 took the stage as if they were new!
